Such a fun night in Reno… lookin forward to rippin up there again SOON!
Brave or Crazy? No, just human….
Last night while standing in my back yard I hear a scream that comes from somewhere behind my house… I run in the house, grab my keys, cell phone and my MAG light… jump in the car and drive towards where the scream seemed to have come from… for what ever reason I turned down a st. that I have never driven down only to drive up on a guy, a girl and 3 dogs coming towards me… the girl is crying uncontrollably and the guy is yelling for me to stop. I roll down the window and the first thing he says is “my dog got killed” I’m thinking it got hit by a car… not the case. I park, get out and he asks “will you help me, I dont have a flashlight.” We walk to his after he walks his gf to the neighbors house and as we walk he explains that a dog they had rescued and were housing had killed their chihuahua that theyve had for 7 yrs. Walk in the back yard and find the lifeless dog laying there… his friend comes over only to walk in, look, and say “youre on your own dude” and leaves… the man, who is in his late 20s, is bawling and blaming himself for leaving the house when the incident happened… I tell him “whatever you need, im here to help” I grab a towel and small blanket and wrap up the dog… as I am doing so, all I can picture was if this had happened to my dog. The gf comes back to the house and asks “why did you come here? and how did you find us?” not in a rude way but more so confused as to why a stranger would help… I explained my end of things and she said “either you have a big gun or you are the bravest/craziest person ive ever met”… well, I dont own a gun so crazy is probably the most accurate. I acted on instinct, all I wanted to do was help. They both hugged me and thanked me for helping…. It was amazing to see how gracious they were that a stranger took the time to help… what happened last night will stick with me for a long time… To see my own dog wag his tail at me when I got home made me realize the impact the loss of their dog had on them…
