Last night while standing in my back yard I hear a scream that comes from somewhere behind my house… I run in the house, grab my keys, cell phone and my MAG light… jump in the car and drive towards where the scream seemed to have come from… for what ever reason I turned down a st. that I have never driven down only to drive up on a guy, a girl and 3 dogs coming towards me… the girl is crying uncontrollably and the guy is yelling for me to stop. I roll down the window and the first thing he says is “my dog got killed” I’m thinking it got hit by a car… not the case. I park, get out and he asks “will you help me, I dont have a flashlight.” We walk to his after he walks his gf to the neighbors house and as we walk he explains that a dog they had rescued and were housing had killed their chihuahua that theyve had for 7 yrs. Walk in the back yard and find the lifeless dog laying there… his friend comes over only to walk in, look, and say “youre on your own dude” and leaves… the man, who is in his late 20s, is bawling and blaming himself for leaving the house when the incident happened… I tell him “whatever you need, im here to help” I grab a towel and small blanket and wrap up the dog… as I am doing so, all I can picture was if this had happened to my dog. The gf comes back to the house and asks “why did you come here? and how did you find us?” not in a rude way but more so confused as to why a stranger would help… I explained my end of things and she said “either you have a big gun or you are the bravest/craziest person ive ever met”… well, I dont own a gun so crazy is probably the most accurate. I acted on instinct, all I wanted to do was help. They both hugged me and thanked me for helping…. It was amazing to see how gracious they were that a stranger took the time to help… what happened last night will stick with me for a long time… To see my own dog wag his tail at me when I got home made me realize the impact the loss of their dog had on them…

Our justice system should be renamed the INjustice system… People, especially children, should be protected, and people should be held accountable for their actions… unfortunately that isn’t the way it works… Court does nothing, CPS does nothing… who can you ask for help that will actually do something??? I dont understand how people turnd look the other way and don’t do what they are supposed to…. for a judge to basically say “eh, we’ll talk about it in a few weeks” is complete horse shit. God, or whoever is up there, please look over and protect those that are too small to do so for themselves….

and to the person that this rant was caused by, remember one thing…. KARMA is a bitch.

I have so much more I want to say about this but I know my mouth will get me in trouble….

In order to shed some light on the subject, Drumhead sent out a questionnaire to several artists and artist relations personnel to get their take on the matter, and set the record straight about what is and isn’t: expected, needed, tolerated and appreciated from both sides of the coin. Having a child OR donating either sperm/egg DOES not make you a Mother OR Father… The love and nurturing that it takes to raise a child is not something you can force yourself to learn. SOME were meant to be parents and SOME just don’t get it…. being a parent is about being selfless and putting the needs of a little human that DEPENDS on you before your own. Using your child as a pawn to get back at someone is disgusting. It hurts the very soul and being of a child and please believe that they will remember what you did… I know first hand. I was fortunate enough to have my DAD come into my life, but not until I was four years old. Just as my son was fortunate enough to have his Mama come into his at 7 months old… He and I are both very lucky to have people like Michael Lewis, my Dad, and Crystal Lewis, Orion’s Mama. I believe in luck but I believe MORE in fate… I think the events that have led Orion and I AND YOU for that matter to where we are at this very moment all happened for a reason. What you do from here is up to you…

Orion, Daddy loves you more than you can ever know… (pretty sure you have a good idea though)

Dad, I love you. Thank you for all the lessons that you have taught me and thank you for being an amazing father and friend.

Crystal, you are an amazing wife an amazing Mom and an amazing person. Orion, Emma and I are lucky to have you and we all appreciate everything you do for us daily… even if we are ALL punks sometimes.
